About
The National Asian Culture Center in Gwangju, South Korea, invites emerging Asian artists to submit experimental works exploring art and technology for the 2027 edition of ACC NEXT, themed 'Prototype'. Selected works will be shown at ACC Creation Space 5 from 2 April to 22 August 2027 (tentative). Formats include interactive installations, generative video and image, kinetic and robotic art and immersive XR.
Applicants must be nationals of an Asian country (artists born or raised in Asia may be considered if the work engages with Asian identities), born on or after 1 January 1987, and have either one solo exhibition, participation in a national or public museum exhibition, or three or more group exhibitions. Teams may apply. Artists must attend installation and the opening, and non-Koreans must be able to obtain a Korean visa.
Each selected work receives a KRW 3,000,000 artist fee, up to KRW 2,000,000 for installation and materials, plus travel and accommodation support, with possible consideration for the 2027 ACC CREATORS Residency. Applications are made online via an ACC website account between 1 and 25 October 2026; results are announced 30 November 2026.
