About
The Premio BMW de Pintura has been held since 1986. The 41st edition has two categories, Painting and Digital Art, open to artists resident in Spain who are over 18 at the closing date. Each entrant may submit up to two works; paintings must measure between 100 x 81 cm and 195 x 195 cm. Previous winners of the painting prize may not re-enter.
The 2026 call opened 21 April 2026 and, after extension, closed 23 June 2026 at 11:00. Preselection is announced in September, finalists in October and winners in November–December 2026, with a physical exhibition in Madrid at the organiser's discretion and a virtual exhibition online. Prizes: Premio BMW de Pintura EUR 25,000, Beca Mario Antolín EUR 8,000, Premio a la Innovación EUR 6,000 (total EUR 43,000 per the organiser's announcement). No entry fee.
