About
Balmaceda Visual is the annual exhibition call of Balmaceda Arte Joven, a Chilean foundation supporting young artists. The 2026 edition, 'Premoniciones', invited artists to reflect on a world at a threshold, between the possibility of evolution and the risk of collapse, through contemporary visual languages.
The call was open to Chilean artists and foreigners resident in Chile aged 18 to 30 at the time of application, individually or as collectives, with a single proposal per application submitted via an online form by 15 April 2026. Theme and format were free, and accepted media included painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, mixed media, installation, video and performance in two-, three-dimensional, installation, audiovisual or sound formats.
Selected works are shown at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) in Santiago and at Balmaceda Arte Joven's venues in Antofagasta, Valparaíso, Santiago, Bío Bío and Los Lagos. The call is marked finalised on the organiser's site and recurs each year.
