About
The Biennale Arte is the Venice Biennale's international art exhibition. The 61st edition, titled 'In Minor Keys' and curated by Koyo Kouoh, runs from 9 May to 22 November 2026 at the Giardini, Arsenale and venues across Venice.
Artists do not apply. The curator selects the participants of the central exhibition (110 in 2026), while national pavilions (100 countries in 2026) are organised by each country's commissioning body, which runs its own selection. Collateral Events (31 in 2026) are proposed by non-profit institutions and approved by the Biennale.
Listed for reference: the route for an individual artist is through their national commissioner or a non-profit institution proposing a Collateral Event, not through the Biennale directly.
