About
The Biennale Malarstwa Bielska Jesień, organised by Galeria Bielska BWA in Bielsko-Biała, is a two-stage painting competition: a jury first selects from digital reproductions, then judges original works. It is open to Polish artists working in painting regardless of residence and to non-Polish artists living in Poland, including students, graduates and self-taught painters.
For the 47th edition, online entries (three works each) were accepted 14 March to 14 April 2025 with a PLN 60 fee; originals for stage two were due by 18 August 2025, results came by the end of September and the exhibition ran 7 November to 31 December 2025. Prizes: Grand Prix PLN 30,000 plus a solo exhibition, second prize PLN 20,000, third prize PLN 10,000 and distinctions of PLN 3,000. The 48th edition is expected in 2027 with a call in spring 2027; no details were published at the time of research.
