About

Boyle Arts Festival's Open Submission Exhibition runs alongside its invited Main Art Exhibition in King House. It is open to amateur and semi-professional artists from all over Ireland, one original work each in any medium, ready to hang and no more than 70cm including frame. All work must be for sale (25% commission).

Entries are handed in in person in Boyle in late June (in 2026 on 26 and 28 June) with a non-refundable €10 fee. The Sue Hil Perpetual Trophy for Merit goes to the best work, whose maker is invited to exhibit in the Main Exhibition the following year.

The 2027 festival runs 15 to 24 July 2027; the 2027 entry terms will follow the 2026 pattern.
