About

The Burnie Print Prize is a biennial acquisitive award run by the Burnie Regional Art Gallery in north-west Tasmania, whose national reputation rests on the print collection built through the prize. The 2027 edition will be shown in the new Burnie Arts Centre.

It is open to artists aged 18 and over who are living and working in Australia. Only print media are eligible: relief, intaglio, planographic and stencil printing, plus digital reproductions of prints made by traditional methods. Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media and other digital art are excluded.

Entries close at 5pm on 30 October 2026 with a fee of AUD $50 (inc. GST). Finalists are announced on 27 November 2026 and the $18,000 major prize winner at the opening on 19 March 2027. The exhibition runs 20 March to 29 May 2027.
