About
The CAP Prize for Contemporary African Photography has been awarded annually since 2012 by a Basel-based association to five photographers, of any nationality, whose work was created on the African continent or engages with the African diaspora. Winners' series are exhibited at partner festivals and venues around the world.
Entry is free. Series of 10 to 25 images are submitted online; an international panel of judges selects the winners. Recent calls have opened on 7 November and closed in early February (the 2023 call ran 7 November 2022 to 7 February 2023).
