About
The Cheltenham Illustration Awards, run by Pittville Press at the University of Gloucestershire, invite narrative illustration responding to an annual theme. The 19th edition's theme is 'Marvellous!', a celebration of imagination, surprise, beauty, curiosity and awe. All styles, techniques and media are welcome, and the awards are open worldwide in two categories: Student (18+) and Emerging and Established Illustrators.
Submissions are made via an online form at £10 per submission, with a maximum of three. The deadline for the 19th awards is 11:59pm on 1 December 2026. Selected illustrators are published in the 19th Annual (with a complimentary copy posted worldwide) and exhibited at the Elwes Gallery, Park Campus, Cheltenham, with a touring exhibition and portfolio reviews with industry specialists; further prizes are to be announced.
