About
Colours of Summer is an open-entry themed exhibition held by the Royal Queensland Art Society Brisbane Branch at its Petrie Terrace Gallery. Artists are invited to interpret the bold and joyful colours of the summer landscape, lifestyle and cultural experiences in Queensland or further afield.
Entry is open to all artists; works must not have been a finalist in an RQAS-sponsored competition in the two years before entries close. Artworks must not exceed 1m x 1m including frame or weigh more than 15kg. Entry costs AUD $35 per artwork, or $20 for RQAS Brisbane Branch members, and the gallery charges 27.5% commission on sales. Artists under 17 may take part without listing work for sale.
Entry forms are due by 3:30pm on 28 October 2026 and works must be delivered to the gallery on 24 November 2026. A People's Choice award of a 12-month RQAS Brisbane Branch membership is given at the end of the exhibition.
