About

The British Library is offering a six-month internship in its Conservation Department for an emerging conservator. The intern is based at the British Library Centre for Conservation and rotates through book and paper conservation, conservation for digitisation, and exhibitions and loans.

The intern treats items from the Library's collections and learns how to make treatment decisions and weigh their ethical and practical implications. The post is for conservators who graduated within the last three years and who hold a conservation degree; good manual dexterity, attention to detail and communication skills are expected.

The internship is full time (36 hours) on a six-month fixed-term contract at £27,706 a year. Applicants need the right to live and work in the UK; apply through the British Library's website.
