About
Creative Capital funds the creation of new, original artistic projects in visual arts, performing arts, film and literature, providing unrestricted project grants from $15,000 up to $50,000 together with professional development, industry connections and community support over a five-year engagement. The 2027 Open Call also introduced the State of the Art Prize.
Applicants must be US citizens, permanent residents, Tribal ID holders or O-1 visa holders, at least 25 years old, working artists with at least five years of professional practice, and not enrolled in a degree programme at the time of application.
The 2027 cycle opened 2 March 2026 and closed 2 April 2026 at 3pm ET, with Round II notifications in June, Round III in September and final grant notification in December 2026. The portal is closed; the next cycle will be announced via the newsletter.
