Creature Artist at Cloud Imperium Games

Cloud Imperium Games is looking for Creature Artists at its Manchester studio to develop the beings that inhabit its space simulation. The artist works with art directors and concept artists to turn 2D concepts into high-resolution digital sculpts, builds production-ready low-poly models, develops textures, shaders and materials for skin, fur, scales and feathers, and works with animators and riggers so that models deform correctly and run within performance budgets in engine.

Applicants need a strong portfolio showing creature design, anatomy and sculpting and texturing skills, proficiency in 3D software such as ZBrush and Maya, expertise in Substance Painter or Designer and Photoshop, an understanding of anatomy and biomechanics, and familiarity with Unreal or Unity. Grooming and fur systems, creature rigging and a background in traditional art, life drawing or sculpting are nice to have.

Hours, contract type and pay are not stated. Apply through the Indeed listing. The company warns of fraudulent job offers claiming to be from CIG and says it never asks for bank details or money.
