Curator at Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf

Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf, the council-run contemporary public gallery in Double Bay, Sydney, is hiring a permanent full-time curator reporting to the gallery director. The post develops and delivers the annual exhibition and public programme, coordinates exhibition production and installation, manages artists, lenders and contractors, writes interpretive and promotional material, and prepares grant applications, acquittals and committee reports, as well as helping with art sales, sponsorship and venue hire. The council pitches it at an emerging or mid-career curator.

Essential criteria include tertiary qualifications in curatorial studies, visual arts or arts management, curatorial and exhibition production experience in a gallery or museum, project management including coordinating installers and contractors, public programme delivery, gallery work health and safety, a Working with Children Check and willingness to obtain First Aid, and flexibility for weekends and evenings. Grant writing, Adobe or SketchUp skills, a driving licence and RSA are desirable.
