About

De Ateliers is an independent artist institute offering a two-year programme with weekly tutoring from an international team of artists and art professionals. Participants receive a studio, a stipend and a working budget and have access to workshops.

The application round for the 2027-2029 working year opens on 1 December 2026. Visual artists from all disciplines, including duos, may apply from any country. There is no age limit and no formal art education is required; applicants are usually 20 to 30, and those over 30 must explain how they are at the beginning of their career. Artists who have worked at or been employed by the Jan van Eyck Academie or the Rijksakademie are not eligible. A good command of English is required.

The application fee is 65 EUR, waived for applicants from certain OECD DAC-list countries. Selection runs in three rounds; invitations to interview and rejections are sent at the end of March.
