About
The EFA Studio Program offers subsidised private studios of 200 to 440 square feet in Midtown Manhattan to visual artists with a developed studio practice. Monthly membership fees range from $634 to $2,022 depending on size and demonstrated financial need, plus $80 monthly dues; heat, electricity, internet and common areas are included. Membership runs up to two years and can be renewed by reapplying.
Applicants must be US citizens or legal residents, not enrolled in a degree programme, and working in media the building can accommodate (no large or heavy sculpture, fire risk or high noise). The programme welcomes artists within commuting distance of Manhattan.
Applications are open from 1 October to 1 December 2026. There is no application fee.
