About
Fogo Island Arts offers three two-month residencies in 2027 for French artists: 1 June – 31 July (Squish Studio), 2 July – 31 August (Tower Studio) and 3 August – 30 September (Long Studio). The award covers travel, studio space, a private Saltbox house, a vehicle for use on the island and a stipend for food and fuel.
Applicants must hold French citizenship and currently live in France or a French territory, be 25 or older, hold a valid driver's licence and have English proficiency.
Applications go through SlideRoom with an artist statement, project description, biography, CV, two referees and up to 12 images or two videos. The deadline is 20 November 2026; awardees are notified in December 2026.
