Freelance Manhua Artist at United Creatives

United Creatives, a Manchester design studio, is looking for a freelance artist experienced in Manhua (Chinese comic) style illustration. The first project is a premium drinks menu for a hotel bar client in China, with the drinks and story told through Manhua-style characters and scenes.

The artist creates original characters and illustrations from the studio's direction, works with its design team on revisions and keeps in regular contact. Applicants need a strong Manhua or similar portfolio, an understanding of Chinese visual culture, good composition and storytelling, and the ability to work from a brief remotely.

The work is expected to take 8–10 hours a week at £20 an hour, with possible extra hours and potential ongoing work for two years. Apply by email with a portfolio, rate and availability.
