About
The Geelong Contemporary Art Prize is a biennial $30,000 acquisitive prize for contemporary Australian painting presented by Geelong Gallery, one of Victoria's oldest regional galleries. Finalists are exhibited at the gallery and the winning work enters its collection.
The 2026 call ran from 14 July to 21 August 2026 and was open to artists living and working in Australia, with up to two paintings per artist made within the previous two years, at $45 per entry. Thirty-six finalists were shortlisted in late September, and the finalists' exhibition runs from 7 November 2026 to 28 February 2027. The next call is expected in 2028.
