About
The Gilbert Bayes Award supports early-career sculptors making the transition to professional practice. Recipients join a year of monthly professional development sessions (January to November 2027) with speakers from galleries, charities and collections, present at a Sculpture Slam talk, and are included in a group exhibition in London in early 2028.
The award is open internationally to artists of any age, with or without formal training, who have at least four years of exhibiting experience and are not in full-time education. Current or former Society members cannot apply. Recipients receive one year of free membership, access to member-only opportunities and the chance to apply for a residency at Benson Sedgwick Engineering in East London.
Applications are made through CuratorSpace with up to 12 images across at least five works, an artist statement and a two-page CV. There is a £10 entry fee.
