About
If/Then: Chance and Creativity is a digital-first quarterly magazine edited by Brandon J. Barnard, based in Devon, exploring how chance shapes creative processes. Volume 2 takes the theme Ritual, inviting work on repetition, routine, ceremony, habit, superstition and preparation, and on moments where repetition produces something unexpected.
Artists, writers, filmmakers, photographers and other creative practitioners at any stage may submit up to four pieces, including photography, visual art, text of up to 1,000 words, film stills, performance documentation and process-based work. Work must date from 2024, 2025 or 2026.
Submission is free with no participation fee. Selected contributors receive a PDF of the completed magazine and retain full copyright; there is no financial compensation. The publication date is not yet confirmed.
