About
The Jindřich Chalupecký Award has been given since 1990 and since 2024 names three laureates a year without an age limit, selected by an international jury from an open call. Artists living or working in the Czech Republic may apply regardless of citizenship or education.
Laureates receive a budget of CZK 60,000 for a new work, an artist fee and year-round stipend support, curatorial, production and installation support for an exhibition at a partner institution (PLATO Ostrava for 2027, Moravian Gallery Brno 2028, National Gallery Prague 2029), international consultations and a residency or research stay abroad. The 2027 call is open from 5 October 2026 to 5 November 2026, 23:59 (CET+1) via award.sjch.cz; laureates are announced at a ceremony in early 2027.
