About
Since 2001 the Biennale de la jeune création in Mulhouse has presented more than 1,500 artists from French and European higher art schools. The 16th edition, Mulhouse 025, was open to graduates of European art schools from 2023 or 2024, who applied through their former school by 17 February 2025; the jury met in late February and the exhibition ran 13–16 June 2025 at Motoco, with extended programming from March to July. Prizes included a three-month Mulhouse residency, a Luxembourg residency, exhibition prizes at La Filature and the Freiburg cultural centre, a critical-writing prize and a NOVO magazine spread.
The 17th edition, Mulhouse 027, is scheduled for June 2027 across Motoco, La Filature, the Kunsthalle and the banks of the Ill, with around forty artists from 27 schools. Candidates should contact their art school for the application file; the call is expected around the turn of 2026/2027.
