About
The Premio UNNE para las Artes Visuales is run by the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste through the Centro Cultural Nordeste in Resistencia and the Centro Cultural Universitario in Corrientes, to stimulate contemporary production and give visibility to artists of the region and the country. The 2026 edition, coinciding with the university's 70th anniversary, was organised in three categories: textile, painting and sculpture.
The competition has a regional stage for artists born or resident for at least two years in the Nordeste, and a national stage open to artists from any Argentine province under the same residence conditions. Each category carries an acquisition prize of ARS 2,000,000, and selected works are shown in a group exhibition and published in a printed and digital catalogue.
Reception of works for 2026 has closed, with 265 works received (147 painting, 90 textile, 28 sculpture) from all 23 provinces and Buenos Aires city. The call recurs; dates and bases for the next edition are published by the Centro Cultural Nordeste.
