About

The Prix Paritana was created in 2017 by Fondation H to support Madagascar's young contemporary art scene and is open to artists of Malagasy nationality or resident in Madagascar, working in any visual medium. The tenth edition's call ran from 12 January to 24 March 2026.

The laureate receives a EUR 3,000 creation grant, three months at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris (October to December) followed by three months at Fondation H in Antananarivo (January to March), an introduction week in Paris, an open studio and a solo exhibition at the Institut français de Madagascar. Two vice-laureates receive a grant of 5 million ariary and a three-month residency at Fondation H followed by a solo show.

An exhibition marking ten years of the prize, curated by N'Goné Fall, opens at Fondation H in Antananarivo on 13 November 2026. The 2027 call has not yet been published; previous calls opened in January.
