About
The Prix Pierre-Ayot is awarded annually by the Ville de Montréal in partnership with the Association des galeries d'art contemporain (AGAC) to recognise an emerging or early-mid-career visual artist. The 2026 call closed on 22 September 2026 at 11:59 pm, with the prize presented in autumn.
Candidates must be professional artists with no more than 15 years of practice who live or work in Montréal and have exhibited in a recognised Montréal venue since October 2023. Applications are made online via AGAC's platform with up to 15 images, a 500-word statement and a CV.
The winner receives $7,500 plus $2,500 toward exhibition promotion, and the City acquires one work for its municipal collection; two finalists receive $1,000 each.
