About

Rimbun Dahan is a privately run arts centre on a 14-acre garden site in Kuang, Selangor, founded by Hijjas Kasturi and Angela Hijjas. Its Southeast Asian Arts Residency gives artists of all genres and arts managers from ASEAN nations a two-month stay with accommodation, studio space, a living allowance and a limited travel stipend.

For artists from outside ASEAN, the Open Residencies for International Artists programme offers accommodation and work space for stays of a month or more at RM5,000–7,000 per month, with rolling applications. Free accommodation is also offered to international practitioners collaborating with Malaysian artists.

Application deadlines for the Southeast Asian residency are not published on the overview page; applicants should check the programme page and FAQ.
