About
The Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA) invites artists to submit work for exhibition alongside its members at the RSMA Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries. Subject matter must be essentially marine in nature, relating in some way to tidal waters: harbours, shorelines, shipping, beaches, wildlife and so on. Accepted media include oil, acrylic, watercolour, original prints (not photography), mixed media, textiles, drawings, pastels and sculpture; maximum 2.4m along the longest dimension.
For the 2026 edition, online submissions ran from 13 April to 24 July 2026 via the Open Exhibition Submission System, with selection notified on 7 August and the exhibition held 16 to 26 September 2026. Entry costs £22 per work (£14.50 for artists aged 35 or under); up to six works may be entered, of which up to four may be selected. Awards worth over £5,000 include the £2,000 Baltic Exchange Award. The call recurs annually.
