About
The RSA William Littlejohn Award is an annual £2,000 award from the Royal Scottish Academy for artists working in water-based media (any pigment mixed with water). It is open to students graduating in 2026 and current postgraduates at Gray's School of Art, Duncan of Jordanstone, Edinburgh College of Art, Glasgow School of Art or the University of the Highlands and Islands, who were born in Scotland or have lived there for at least three years. The award funds the development of new work, which is then exhibited at the RSA, with a piece acquired for the RSA's national collection.
Applications for 2026 are closed. The award runs annually, with the next round expected in early 2027.
