About
The Comédie-Française is hiring a decorator for its set workshops, working under the technical director and the head decorator. The job is making scenery from plans and models: painting, painted cloths, faux wood and faux marble finishes, patination, drawing and sculpted elements.
The decorator carries out each stage of set finishing, makes touch-ups in the workshops and in the company's performance venues, looks after the workshop and passes on skills to fixed-term staff and trainees.
The theatre asks for the ability to visualise set forms, to work on any material, basic Photoshop, artistic culture, interest in theatre and stage techniques, autonomy and teamwork. Pay follows the internal salary scale and experience. Applications close 5 November 2026.
