About
The Society of Wildlife Artists (SWLA) invites artists to submit work depicting the world's non-domestic wildlife (birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, crustaceans, insects) for The Natural Eye, its annual exhibition at Mall Galleries. All media except photography are accepted, including drawing, painting, sculpture and original prints; artist-created digital prints are allowed if not AI-generated. Works must have been completed in the last three years, not previously shown at Mall Galleries, and measure no more than 2.4m along the longest dimension.
For the 2026 edition, submissions ran online from 1 May to 7 August 2026 via the Open Exhibition Submission System, with notification on 21 August and the exhibition held 1 to 10 October 2026. Entry costs £22 per work (£14.50 for artists aged 35 or under), up to six works per artist. Awards total over £5,000. The call recurs annually.
