About
Founded in 1987, the churchie emerging art prize is a leading Australian award for emerging contemporary artists. In 2026 it returned to program partner Metro Arts in West End, Brisbane, with a prize pool of $55,000 and a $40,000 major prize sponsored by BSPN Architecture.
Emerging artists over 18 who are Australian citizens or permanent residents may submit up to five artworks online with an artist statement and career summary. The 2026 call ran from 1 April to 24 May 2026.
