About
The Women in Art Prize (formerly the Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Prize) is an annual award run by Women in Art Prize CIC, open to female visual artists worldwide working in painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, illustration, mixed media and digital art. Twenty-five finalists are selected and exhibited across London venues, including with Art on a Postcard and galleries in Hampstead and Marylebone.
The 9th edition closed to entries on 30 June 2026 via the Zealous platform. Awards include an overall winner's week-long retreat in Mirleft, Morocco (12-18 October 2026), £1,000 prizes for photography (with a Photo London feature), sculpture and digital/moving image (with a solo show at TAEX), a printmaking award, the £2,000 Susan Angoy Award for artists of African or Caribbean heritage, a £2,000 Mature Artist Prize (65+), a Young Woman Artist Award (25 and under) and a £1,000 Best Overseas Artist award. Total cash prizes exceed £9,000.
