About
The Castillo de San Fernando painting competition has been held annually in Bolaños de Calatrava for 44 editions. Any adult artist may take part regardless of residence, individually or collectively, with up to two original, unexhibited works in any style, technique or support, maximum 150 cm per side.
Entries for 2026 were submitted digitally via mundoarti.com until 19 July 2026, with the platform collecting the participation cost. Finalists were shown from 11 to 30 September 2026 at the Casa de Cultura, and prizes presented on 12 September.
Two acquisition prizes of 2,250 EUR each are given, from the town council and the Diputación Provincial de Ciudad Real. The 2027 call is expected in spring.
