Art Handler or Lead Art Handler/Crew Chief at Aiston Fine Art Services

Aiston Fine Art Services, a fine art transportation, logistics and storage company founded in 2002, is hiring experienced art handlers and lead art handlers or crew chiefs for its Long Island City base. The work involves handling, preparing, packing and installing fragile and valuable artworks in the warehouse, on trucks and at client sites, and keeping paperwork, labels and records in order.

Applicants need at least one year of art handling experience and knowledge of packing and installation procedures. Higher starting pay is offered to those who can drive a box truck with ELD and DOT knowledge, have a year as a lead handler or crew chief, can condition-check artworks or conduct site specs, and can lead teams and deal with clients.

Pay is $26 to $38 an hour based on experience and references, paid weekly, with overtime after 40 hours; most employees average 40 to 50 hours a week, typically 8am to 5pm. Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance with half the employee cost paid, 10 vacation days, personal and sick days and commuter benefits. Part-time will also be considered.
