About

Arts/Industry places up to twelve artists a year inside the Kohler Co. factory in Kohler, Wisconsin, for three-month residencies in the Pottery or Foundry. Residents get 24-hour studio access, industrial materials and equipment, technical assistance, photographic services, housing, round-trip transportation and a stipend (the FAQ gives $5,000 paid in four instalments).

Artists from all disciplines and any country may apply; no clay or cast-metal experience is required. Applications ask for an artist statement, statements of interest and experience, ten images and two references.

The application for the 2027 residency opened 1 January 2026 and closed 28 February 2026. Dates for the 2028 cycle have not been posted; the programme has recently opened on 1 January each year.
