About

The Warburg Institute in London, which studies cultural history and the role of images, hosts three creative practitioners a year through its Assetto Fellowships, one in each academic term of three or four months. Fellows can include visual artists, filmmakers, photographers, designers, game developers, composers and writers.

Fellows get a workspace and time to research and develop their practice using the Institute's collections and research community, with links to partners such as the Slade School of Fine Art. They must be on site, attend regular Institute events and produce a short report, and are invited to contribute to the public programme of events, exhibitions or publishing.

The fellowships are open to practitioners at any career stage, with a balance of emerging and established fellows, and favour practices engaged with images, interdisciplinarity and cultural history. The listing gives a pay band of £10k–£15k but no exact figure. Apply, with a reference, through the University of London SAS fellowship portal.
