About

Stadt Wien Kunst GmbH is recruiting a full-time assistant curator for the Kunsthalle Wien, the city's contemporary art exhibition venue. The role supports the planning, research, production and evaluation of the artistic programme, working closely with artists, curators, exhibition producers, the publications team, the chief curator and the artistic director.

Day-to-day work includes drafting and editing exhibition texts in German and English, preparing lists of works and dossiers, submitting loan requests, supporting artists during installation, helping production with budgets, schedules and SketchUp models, archiving, giving tours and, where needed, curating projects.

Applicants need knowledge of contemporary art, a relevant degree or at least two years' professional experience in the field, German at C1 or above and English, and good writing skills (a one-page writing sample is requested). The post is permanent, 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, at €3,000 gross a month, starting as soon as possible.
