Character Artist (Expression of Interest) at Blind Squirrel Games

Blind Squirrel Games, an independent studio working on ports, co-development and full game development, is inviting expressions of interest from character artists for potential upcoming full-time positions at its Auckland studio. Supported by the Art Director and project leads, character artists sculpt and model characters, creatures, clothing and accessories, create animation-ready topology, UVs and PBR textures and materials, groom hair and fur, integrate assets into the engine and optimise them for performance.

Applicants need a bachelor's degree in art or a related field or equivalent experience, at least three years of game industry experience specialising in character art (five or more for senior responsibilities), experience on shipped games, and a portfolio of high-quality characters and creatures with strong anatomy, proportion and silhouette. Maya or 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance, Marvelous Designer and Unreal Engine experience are preferred.

The posting is an expression of interest for potential upcoming full-time positions, fully onsite at the Auckland studio. Pay is not stated. Apply through the Indeed listing.
