Creative Recovery Project Artist at Horsham Rural City Council

Horsham Rural City Council is seeking expressions of interest from artists or creative teams for a public art project with the Natimuk and Quantong communities, supporting their recovery after fire. The appointed artist will work closely with residents to explore local stories, values and hopes, and develop a creative response shaped by that engagement.

The council is looking for a strong artistic practice, community engagement and facilitation skills, the ability to work sensitively in a disaster-affected community, an understanding of trauma-informed practice and experience with regional communities. Local and regional connections are valued but not essential; the Regional Arts Victoria listing marks the call as open to Victoria.

The project budget is A$60,000, covering artist fees, workshop delivery and production of the final work. The full EOI pack is available from the council's contact officer, and applications are submitted by email by 30 November 2026.
