About
Canberra Contemporary, the ACT's leading contemporary visual art organisation, is recruiting a Curator + Program Manager across its main gallery in Parkes and its Platform project space in Manuka. The role curates in-house exhibitions and partner projects, supports artists and external curators to realise shows, and manages install and de-install, exhibition and loan agreements, freight, budgets and technical support.
It may also involve supervising casual staff, mentoring emerging artists, research and writing, catalogue production, building maintenance and event technology. The gallery is looking for an ambitious early or mid-career curator who works well in a small team and with a diverse range of artists.
The post is ongoing part time at 0.8 FTE (30 hours a week, with some evening and weekend work) and a six-month probation, paid A$68,000–A$72,000 a year (pro rata of A$85,000–A$90,000) plus 12% superannuation. Applications close at 3pm AEST on 3 November 2026.
