About

The DRS Arts Grant is run by DRS Arts Company in Ahmedabad to support Indian visual artists at different stages of their practice. The funding can go towards artistic practice, research, experimentation and future development.

There are four categories, set by the artist's age on the closing date. The DRS Artist Grant of ₹2,40,000 is for artists aged 30 and over with at least five years of independent practice. The DRS Emerging Practice Grant of ₹60,000 is for artists aged 25 to 29. The DRS Young Artist Grant of ₹60,000 is for artists aged 18 to 24, including art students and self-taught artists. The Ravindra Salve Promising Artist Award of ₹30,000 is for artists under 30.

Applicants must be Indian citizens currently based in India, practising in any visual medium. Artists living outside India cannot apply this cycle. Applications are free and ask for 8 to 10 recent works, a CV and short written answers about your practice and how you would use the grant.

Applications run from 3 to 23 November 2026. Shortlisted artists hear on 7 December, the final announcement is on 17 December 2026 and payments begin on 1 January 2027.
