Instructor of Illustration at SUNY Brockport

The Department of Art and Design at SUNY Brockport is hiring a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track Instructor of Art in Illustration with a focus on digital illustration, to start in August 2027. The instructor teaches a 4/4 course load in traditional and digital illustration, foundations and introductory graphic design, serves as area head for illustration, advises students, and takes part in BFA programme activities, assessment and department service. Creative work resulting in exhibition or publication is part of the role.

Applicants need an MFA, MDes or MA by appointment, relevant professional experience, the ability to teach both traditional and digital illustration, and a portfolio demonstrating mastery of illustration and drawing. Experience with 3D modelling, motion graphics or animation, two years of college teaching and professional illustration or design experience are preferred. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
