Mentor Artist, Targeted Placemaking Project at RIG Arts

RIG Arts in Inverclyde is recruiting two Mentor Artists for the Targeted Placemaking Project, funded by the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust (formerly Sustrans). The project runs alongside improvements to National Cycle Network Route 75 between Barr's Brae Road in Port Glasgow and Lady Octavia Sports Centre in Greenock.

The artists plan and run creative workshops, guided walks, pop-up activities and community events with local people, especially young people, then use what they gather to shape the concept and design of a temporary public artwork for the route. They also mentor two paid young artist interns and document and evaluate the work. RIG Arts usually asks its freelance artists to be self-employed, hold public liability insurance and join the PVG scheme.

The fee is £45.80 an hour, £2,290 in total. Apply with a CV and cover letter by email to [email protected] with the subject line 'Targeted Placemaking Project- Mentor Artist Application'.
