About

The City of Mississauga's Public Art Program is asking professional artists and artist-led teams for credentials and expressions of interest to make a permanent artwork in Fairwinds Park. The park sits close to Cooksville Creek and includes protected wetlands, so the city sees the commission as suited to artists interested in community, nature and ecology. It is funded by developer contributions as part of a multi-phase programme.

Selection runs in two stages, with a shortlist invited to develop proposals. Full submission requirements are on the city's calls page.

The artwork budget is C$315,000 plus HST. Expressions of interest must be in by 11:59pm ET on 23 November 2026.
