About

The Guelph Public Library Board is inviting professional artists and artist-led teams to submit expressions of interest for a three-dimensional artwork in the atrium of the new Central Library, celebrating the community's support of the library and 35 years of the board's work. The finished piece will join the City of Guelph Public Art Collection.

Artists or teams resident and entitled to work in Canada, and Indigenous artists living in or originating from the territories now known as Canada, may apply. Artists with less large-scale or technical experience are encouraged to team up with people who can cover those parts. Shortlisted artists, notified in January 2027, receive a C$2,500 plus HST honorarium to develop full proposals due 1 March 2027.

The artist's budget is C$250,000 plus HST, covering fees, production, studio, travel, engineering and installation. Phase one submissions close at 11:59pm ET on 30 November 2026; an optional information session is offered.
