About
The Friends of the Guelph Public Library are inviting experienced artists and artist-led teams to submit expressions of interest for an original artwork in the children's area of the new Central Library, marking the group's 22 years of support for the library. The work will become part of the City of Guelph Public Art Collection.
Artists or teams resident and entitled to work in Canada, and Indigenous artists living in or originating from the territories now known as Canada, may apply; those with less large-scale or technical experience are encouraged to team up. Shortlisted artists, notified in mid-January 2027, receive a C$2,500 plus HST honorarium to develop proposals due 3 March 2027.
The artist's budget is C$250,000 plus HST, covering fees, production, studio, travel and installation. Phase one closes at 11:59pm ET on 27 November 2026.
