About
The Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program (RAiR) has hosted artists since 1967. Residents live and work on the compound for one year with a house, a private studio and a stipend of $1,100 per month ($1,200 for a jury-selected team), ending with a solo exhibition at the Roswell Museum.
Residents are expected to be present for the year (absences generally limited to six weeks in total), and a car and driver's licence are considered essential. International applicants are accepted, though visa approval is not guaranteed.
The application period reopens on 1 January 2027 and the inbox is monitored until 15 March. The fee is $26.32 per application. Projected 2027 start dates are 1 February, 1 May and 1 September 2027.
