Saltonstall Foundation – 2027 Residencies for New York State Artists

The Saltonstall Foundation offers juried residencies from late May to the end of October for New York State residents in four categories: poetry, fiction, photography and filmmaking, and painting, sculpture and visual arts. Five fellows are in residence at a time: one poet, one fiction writer, one photographer or filmmaker and two visual artists.

Residencies run two, three or four weeks, plus two seven-night residencies for parents of dependent children and full-time caregivers. There is no cost to attend and no application fee. Fellows receive $100 per week, with up to $1,000 more available on the basis of financial need; parent-fellows receive $500.

The 2027 call opened 9 October 2026 and closes 6 December 2026. Applicants must live year-round in New York State or the Indian Nations within it.
