About

Ucross offers residencies of two to six weeks for up to ten residents at a time, with living accommodation, meals from a professional chef, studio space and uninterrupted time. There is no charge for a residency; residents cover their own travel to Sheridan, Wyoming, and materials.

The programme is open to visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers, interdisciplinary and performance artists and collaborative teams who show professional standing in their field; emerging and established artists are both encouraged. Artists may return three years after a previous residency.

The Fall 2027 session (August to early December 2027) opens for applications on 1 November 2026 with a deadline of 15 January 2027. Notification takes about sixteen weeks after the call closes. The Submittable listing gives a $40 application fee for the general residency; the Native American Fellowships carry no fee.
